After successfully completing the company training program, Gloria suddenly stopped coming to work. Her supervisor, Mary, was shocked by Gloria's absence and chose to investigate further. Through a friend at the local police department, Mary learned that Gloria was arrested for failing to appear in court. As it was not part of her company hiring policy, Mary had not looked into Gloria's criminal history before she hired her. If she had, Mary would have known that Gloria had pending charges against her for drug possession.
