Summary: Fair and Legal Employment Act (HB 2779) requires all businesses to utilize I-9 Verification to determine the employment eligibility of new hires. Any company knowingly or intentionally hiring an individual without proper eligilibty could face suspension of its business license and revocation of the license for a subsequent offense. The law was upheld by the U.S. District Court for Arizona but that ruling has been appealed.
